What is new?
On October 28 Anthropic made three Claude Enterprise features generally available (Claude). The goal is simple: show companies what their token spend is buying.
- Smart reports: pick a team, a date range of up to the last 28 days and the products (chat, Claude Code, Cowork). Claude reviews a sample of transcripts, groups the work into workstreams, attaches spend to each and highlights common friction such as a missing connector or a failed tool call.
- In-app surveys: employee feedback on what new work Claude makes possible.
- Pooled group budgets: one shared monthly budget per team, so heavy users don't run out early in the month while others leave budget unspent. Individual limits remain as a guardrail.
The details
According to the Help Center, each organization can run 10 reports per month at no charge, and the feature is off by default until a Primary Owner or Owner enables it (Claude Help Center). Reports also include recommendations, such as which recurring workflows to turn into skills and which rules to add to a repository. Anthropic stresses they are not meant for evaluating individual performance. TechCrunch reports the data is not used for model training by default.
Why now?
TechCrunch notes that AI ROI is a growing concern for large customers (TechCrunch). New Jellyfish data shows spending on agentic coding tools has grown tenfold since the start of the year and now equals roughly 2% of total engineering cost. Most CFOs did not plan for that growth.
What to watch
If you run Claude Enterprise, smart reports are a good starting point for a first cost review, because they show where money goes without results. Before enabling it, check whether transcript analysis fits your internal privacy rules.
