Claude Personal Finance: Plaid banks, read-only beta
Anthropic is rolling out a Personal Finance hub on US Pro, Max and Ultra plans. You connect banks, cards, loans and investments through Plaid, then ask Claude about balances and spending in plain language.

What it is
Claude can now talk about your own accounts. In the Personal Finance hub you connect a bank, card, loan or investment account through Plaid, then ask in everyday language: where the money went, what is left before payday, what an APR is.
Access is read-only. Claude cannot move, manage or invest money, and it does not offer its own credit cards, loans or savings products. There are no ads and no sponsored recommendations (Anthropic).
Who gets it
The feature is in beta in the US only, on Pro, Max and Ultra. Free, Team and Enterprise are out of scope. Rollout is gradual, so it may not appear in the sidebar yet. It works on web, Claude Desktop, iOS and Android (Help Center).
What Claude can see
- Bank name, account name, type and last four digits
- Balances and credit limits
- Up to 24 months (two years) of transactions: amount, date, merchant, category
- Up to 16 banks; Claude never asks for or sees your bank password
For investments, loans and cards, Anthropic says Claude currently reads balances and credit limits, not holdings, trades, rates or contract terms.
Privacy and caveats
Chats in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train models. Outside the hub, your usual privacy settings apply. You can unlink an account anytime, including through my.plaid.com.
Claude can make mistakes, so check important figures with your bank. Balances can be a day or two old, and an account linked under two logins may be counted twice.
Why it matters
This is Claude's first dedicated money hub, not just another agent chat. If you already stitch finance or ops flows with other tools, compare it with Mistral Studio's managed agents: that product focuses on workflows and apps, while this one focuses on reading your own accounts.
